The St. Martin of Tours Altar Society is a dedicated service organization committed to enhancing the beauty and sanctity of the liturgical space. All women of the parish are considered members. Our mission encompasses:
-
Servicing and caring for the Altar & Sanctuary — laundering linens & robes, maintaining & repairing vestments, polishing sacred vessels, and replacing items in need as requested by the priest.
-
Altar & Sanctuary flowers are purchased fresh, and lovingly arranged in order to honor God and make our church pleasing to all who attend Masses, and Adoration.
-
Baptismal bibs, embroidered by volunteers are given to all babies as they are baptized.
-
Preparing and serving funeral meals in Sexton Hall, providing comfort to grieving families, at no charge.
-
Organizing special parish events, including a winter Spaghetti Supper (fundraiser), a Ladies' Lenten Morning Mini‑Retreat, a Ladies' Spring Celebration - Honoring Mary, a Christmas Giving Tree gift drive for local seniors/families, and cookie‑bakes supporting Prison Ministry.
Open to all women of the parish, the Altar Society meets most months on the second Thursday at 6:30 pm, with occasional Zoom options. Check the parish calendar to confirm date & time. Annual dues are $5 (July). Dues, donations and fundraising efforts support our ministries.
Whether arranging flowers, laundering linens, sewing, cooking, or organizing events, members serve with joy and hospitality. It’s a wonderful way to grow in community and faith through hands‑on service. Curious to get involved? Contact the parish office at 765.342.6379.
